Let’s Talk About It: How did you first learn about sex?
Our earliest experiences of learning about sex often stay with us far longer than we realise. Whether it came from parents, peers, school, the internet, or silence, those first messages begin shaping how we understand intimacy, our bodies, relationships, and what we believe is “normal.”
In this week’s Let’s Talk About It video, I explore one simple but meaningful question:
“How did you first learn about sex?”
It’s a gentle starting point for partners to open up about their histories and uncover the ideas, assumptions, or expectations they may still be carrying. When couples understand where each other’s early learning came from, conversations about intimacy become more grounded, compassionate, and honest.
These short episodes offer small, practical insights to help you strengthen your sexual communication and deepen connection. They’re not a replacement for therapy, but they can be a helpful catalyst for curiosity and shared understanding.
